What is the season practice and game schedule?

The Season Practice and game schedule is never concrete as each team has its own needs for practice time but here are some notes

FOOTBALL

  • Practices Start in Late July Typically the last full week (subject to change)
    • Due to requirements to put on pads and play in games the following must be met
      • 10 Hours of conditioning to put on pads (this is usually accomplished with 2 hour practices Mon- Fri for the first week)
      • 10 hours in Pads before any game (this is usually accomplished with 2 hour practices Mon- Fri for the second week)
      • Once all conditioning hours are met the coaches make the practice schedule based on many different factors including but not limited too, Players outside commitments, The coaches schedule
  • Games typically start the last weekend in Aug and run (subject to change)
    • The game schedule is released as early as possible and typically is the week before the first game.
    • There may be changes in the begining of the season as teams drop and add. This is to be expected
    • Games day are usually Sundays and can begin as early as 9 AM They can be at any location in the Jersey shore.
      • From time to time there are games on Friday nights and Sat afternoon/evening depending on the availability of fields and refs.
    • Makeup games can take placed during the week if canceled for weather or other events outside the control of AYF/NJAYF/Manchester Hawks

CHEERLEADING

  • Practices Start in Late July Typically the last full week (subject to change)
    • Cheerleading Schedule is created by the coaches but typically the first week fall into line with the football practice schedule of 5 day in a row
    • Once all conditioning hours are met the coaches make the practice schedule based on many different factors including but not limited too, Players outside commitments, The coaches schedule

Work Bond Hours Bylaws Sec 36.2

  • Work bond is 6 hours per family. Hours must be split up between holding
    chains during the game, play count monitoring, field clean up, and snack stand. You must
    be at least 18 years or older to complete work bond hours.
  • Work bond will be refunded /carried over to the next season based on the request of the family
    • Refunds will not be provided until approx Jan, when all season activities have completed and work bond hours have been verified.
    • Carried over work bonds will be issued as a credit to the account and can be requested on the next registration.
      • If workbond is carried over and there is an increase in the workbond cost since it is being carried over you will not be responsible for the increase. This will not increase the value of your workbond if you do choose a refund in future years
        • example: you pay $150 Workbond the next season its increased to $200 and you rolled it over. you will recieve registration credit of $200. If the following season you request a refund you will only recieve the amount you originally placed of $150.
