The Open Door

Manchester AYFC would like to thank a long-time supporter, The Open Door of New Jersey, for their support throughout the years. Their monetary donations have contributed to various aspects of Manchester AYFC, such as equipment, the snack stand grill, and more.

Owner Estelle Perry raised her family in Manchester, and The Open Door’s first group homes were in Pine Lake Park. She and her daughter, Nicole, are Manchester football parents! Estelle’s son plays for 12U and Nicole’s son is on the 7U squad.

The Open Door, which started in 2008, serves adults with developmental disabilities through their day program, residential services, and pre-vocational services.

The day program offers consumers the opportunity to learn life skills such as cooking and money management, and they also go on field trips.

The Open Door has residential sites throughout Ocean County. The residents are given total care, which ranges from providing transportation to appointments to planning social activities to encourage community involvement.

Pre-vocational services through the Open Door provides employability skills training such as interviewing techniques, proper communication, and volunteer opportunities to gain hands-on experience.

Thank you again to Estelle and Nicole, and The Open Door of New Jersey, for your generous support and commitment to the Manchester Hawks family!
