Re: you do not need to have played football or cheered in high school
Attached is a copy of the NJAYF Community Scholarship application. Please make as many copies as necessary and distribute them to all appropriate seniors at your school. Please note that there is no limit as to the number of seniors who can apply from your school. I also apologize for any duplication that may occur. A letter and copy of the application was sent to all Jersey Shore Team representatives to distribute to their local high schools. My philosophy is better to get it twice then not at all! Hopefully any and all deserving seniors will get the opportunity to apply for this scholarship. This year, Jersey Shore AYF will award at least six (6) $1,000 scholarships, (3 males and 3 females) to graduating seniors in the areas of football and cheerleading/dance. Your help is greatly needed, and appreciated, to identify those seniors who qualify to apply.
The minimal qualifications to apply are:
1) participation at NJAYF at any level for at least one year either on the football team or cheerleading/dance squad and
2) plans to attend an accredited college/university in the fall of this year.
The applicants did not have to participate in either sport during high school to qualify.

The deadline for submission of applications is February 15, 2024. This will allow the league enough time to evaluate the applications and notify the winners and their respective high schools before graduation this spring. All winners will be notified and invited to attend a scholarship ceremony in March of 2024.
